To call it one of the most overrated films in motion picture history is actually a doubtful statement. It has been called "the movie everybody loves to hate", and if we stop for a moment and make a brief draft about films of the genre that are worse than Titanic, you'll find out that the list is endless. Cameron feels unusual, but not precisely unsuccessful. Remarkable score and effective melodrama. Overhyped is the correct adjective, since it is far from being the best filmic adaptation of the story, and not the first to add moving romance to the formula. Nonetheless, it is a surprising effort. 76/100

This movie, according to me, is one of the classic examples of a thrilling visualisation of a huge ship sinking and, even above that, the very powerful expression of various human emotions at the time of life threatening moments. One of my all time favourites.

I saw the titanic triller when i was starting my junior high school. And watched this movie 3 years later in tv. This is movie just a simple thing to say, HISTORY. Not only because i knw how much money that James cameron spent to visualized Titanic into real. But the duet between Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet was just Charismatic. This couple seems timeless, they play their role in very natural way. One my favorite scene was when titanic about to sink, electricity down and Kate searching way to find something to relese Jack's handcuff. Her expression between fear and courage always amazed me.

Kate Winslet is exquisite as the seventeen year old Rose, the upper class young woman betrothed to an obnoxiously rich man (Billy Zane). The story is told from an older Rose's point of view and follows her adventures aboard the "unsinkable ship" as she falls in love with third class passenger Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) who wins tickets for the Titanic at a poker game.

The ending for me was difficult to watch showing the arrogance of the White Star Line people, the desperation of the passengers as the ship is sinking, the fight for their life, the desperate attempt to find other ships to help and I was close to tears. However it is a must watch winning 11 Oscars AND it has a Celine Dion song to boot.

If you're looking for a historical documentary, you won't find it here, but if ...

Titanic review

Itís very ironic how a historical even can lead to a typical Hollywood film about a romantic couple named Jack and Rose. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are talented artists; add Billy Zane and Kathy Bates to make this a respectable ensemble. Leo and Kate have good on-screen chemistry, the supporting cast did well. There were really long scenes that felt like watching a long soap opera waiting to unfold. The heart was there, unfortunately the melancholic event was not suitable for its idea. It would have been better to make a film with one of its survivors. It is one of the breakthroughs in CGI since they were able to replicate a massive sinking ship. Still, the visual effects and talents are not enough to save the drowning picture.

Time to see what all the talk is about.

Titanic is the story of Rose and Jack, separated by class, who fall in love on the "Titanic". Unfortunately, the ship hits an ice berg and Rose and Jack become the two unluckiest people in the world. And the rest is history. The beginning half was kind of boring. It was a sappy love story, the scenes dragged out for too long and the acting was borderline over-acting. It was still pretty good though. I would give the beginning half 70% or 80%. But then the second half just blew my mind. It had great suspense, action, special effects. The second half could have been released on it's own, and been filed as a disaster film (HISTORIC disaster film). The second half I give a perfect 100%. Is it the greatest film ever made? No, definitely not. It's too cliched and predictable. But it still is a ...
